Disconnection Policy
Payment Terms
- Bills are due within 21 days of the billing date.
- Bills are considered delinquent if any dollar amount has not been paid within 22 days of the bill date.
- A late fee will apply if payment is not received by the 22nd day after the bill date:
- 10% of the cumulative balance.
Disconnection of Service

- Service may be disconnected if a delinquent balance remains after a minimum of 23 days from the bill date.
- A service charge will be added to all accounts that have been disconnected.
- Partial payments will not prevent disconnection unless prior arrangements have been made.
- The Okeechobee Utility Authority is not responsible for delays in mail delivery of bills or payments.
Restoring Service After Disconnection
If your service has been disconnected for non-payment:
- The delinquent balance, including any service charges must be paid to restore services.
- Payments made after 6:00 PM will be processed the following business day.
- You must contact the Okeechobee Utility Authority before making payment to schedule service restoration.
