Southwest 5th Avenue Vacuum Sewer Project Phase 1 – Vacuum Station 6 and Branch B
Sealed Proposals for the construction of the Southwest 5th Avenue Vacuum Sewer Project Phase 1 – Vacuum Station 6 and Branch B addressed to the Okeechobee Utility Authority will be received at 100 SW 5th Avenue, Okeechobee, Florida, 34974 until 3:00 p.m., the 7th day of April, 2026, and will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after the time and date will not be accepted or considered.
The project consists of furnishing labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of a wastewater Force Main (as described in the Drawings and Specifications). The Project includes the following Work:
The project consists of construction of a vacuum sewer collection system, including vacuum main, pits and service laterals. The project also includes construction of a complete vacuum pump station along with required appurtenances, including sitework, building, mechanical and electrical components as shown in the Construction Plans. The project includes road and driveway crossings, and related restoration.
Drawings and Specifications may be obtained from the ENGINEER, 410 NW 2nd Street, Okeechobee, FL 34972, by requesting electronic delivery via email with one (1) Specification Booklet, one (1) set of drawings. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 100 SW 5th Avenue, Okeechobee, Florida, at 2:00 p.m. local time on February 25, 2026.
Each Proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to Okeechobee Utility Authority, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. The bid form must be filled in completely and accurately, particularly as it pertains to alternate bid items.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents. Bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurancecompany having his place of business in the State of Florida and complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further,thesaidsurety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida.
In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall, as applicable, hold or obtain such Contractors' and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes.
Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the OWNER/ENGINEER will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low Bidder toperform the size and type of Work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the OWNER to evaluate the Bidder's qualifications.
The Okeechobee Utility Authority reserves the right to waive informalities in the bid, reject all Proposals or any Proposal not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract Documents, and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time which, however, shall not extend beyond forty-five (45) calendar days from the bid opening date.
